Located in the heart of the Wicklow mountains, Lugnaquillia is the highest peak in the county as well as the highest point in Leinster.
Beginning in steep sided valley of Glenmalur this guided hike will take you through the glacial glen of Fraughan Rock where we climb our way up the mountain via the glens head wall before continuing upwards to Lugnaquillia's north east spur boasting views in to the Glen of Imaal and the Wicklow mountains as we continue towards the mountains amply named “North Prison” and onwards to the giant summit cairn for lunch atop Leinster’s highest mountain.
This is not a technical hike but is rated moderate to strenuous due to the length of the day spent moving. Estimated duration of this hike is 5-6 hours.

Hikers may not be allowed to join group if not dressed appropriately for mountainous terrain.
