Slieve League Sunset & Full Moon Hike

Hike Slieve League and catch the Sun set over the Atlantic from the mountain top and be greeted by the rising Moon on our walk home.

Join us on the evening of August 28th 2026 to watch the magic of the Sun setting and Full Moon rising over Donegal Bay from our lofty perch atop the Slieve League Cliffs.

Slieve League otherwise knowing ‘Grey Mountain’ sits in the southwest corner of Donegal and dominates the corner skyline of Donegal Bay. The mountain often mistakenly famed for been the highest sea cliffs in Europe, ranks in at number 5 on the list however it does claim bragging rights of been 3 times higher than the more famous sea cliffs in Co Clare, and in geological age host’s some of Ireland’s oldest rocks.

This tour will see you climb the mountain from the Pilgrims path in the late evening where make our way to the breathtaking cliff face before setting off for the true summit via the famous ‘One Mans Path. The amazing views of cliffs and beyond from this point on will totally dominate your attention as we stay high on the mountain with a 360 visit. Following summit celebrations and the always needed photos, we return across the One Mans Path the south summit where we settle in to watch the Sunset over the Atlantic and enjoy a warming drink before the full Moon rising out of Donegal Bay lights our way back into the darkening valley where we descend to our finishing point.
