Kings Mountain "Both Sides"

Hike the majestic Kings Mountain overlooking Glencar & Sligo Bay

Summit "Both Sides" East & West Tops

Learn the story of the Sligo Noble 6 while visiting the site high in the mountain.

Split by the unmissable Kings Gully, Kings Mountain shares a twin summit option that we have rolled one tour for the very first time

Our guided hikes of Kings Mountain usually either take in the East or West Summit, this tour will take in "Both Sides"

Why do you ask? Views, we say, and the fun of it all of course!

Simply put, standing on Kings East Summit, brings mega views of Glencar and Sligo town, but our coastal views are mostly blocked by the West Summit itself, the solution? Climb them both!

Along our way we step back in Sligo's history with a visit to site of the Sligo Noble Six, hear their story as we follow the route that took the 4 men high into the mountain, and to where  their story sadly ends.

Moving along our route we reach the more uplifting sights like "Annach re Mhor", a huge natural fissure running through the landscape that allows us to step inside the mountain itself and feel very smallbetween the walls of nature's awesome power!

Our hike continues to our first summit of the day, Kings East Summit. This brings us our first proper views into the Glencar Valley and the dramatic drops that lead to it before we continue across the mountain top until we reach the West Summit of Kings Mountain and our second summit of the day, "The Kings Table" boasting views of Sligo Bay previously hiding from view.

After exploring our second summit we make our way back through the dramatic Kings Gully to finish our day on the Sligo hills.
